Providing safe working conditions

The health and safety of our people is Bouygues’ top priority. The Group has a moral obligation to ensure safe working conditions, not only for the benefit of its own employees, but also to make it stand out from its competitors.

Safety, a collective and everyday commitment

Guarantee safety in the workplace

Its subsidiaries devote significant resources, including spending on R&D to improve safety for those working on-site, to prevent and reduce the number (and severity) of accidents in its most exposed construction operations.

Each subsidiary outlines the action to be taken to prevent workplace accidents and occupational illnesses, backed by the dissemination of rules and standards to each group of employees concerned during specific training sessions and routine work procedures. The subsidiaries also call upon a global network of qualified health & safety officers, harness health & safety management systems and organise events to raise awareness.

“Inclusive”, as the Bouygues group’s health and safety policy is called, includes initiatives to educate and train temporary workers and subcontractors.

Ensure health and well-being

The women and men who make up the Group have a right to a safe and positive working environment.

The subsidiaries implement measures to reduce stress and the risks posed by certain psycho-social factors (regarding workplace well-being, sleep, nutrition, on-line working, etc.). Particular concern is given to the importance of ergonomics in preventing musculoskeletal disorders, particularly in the construction and energies and services activities.

The Bouygues group also steadfastly campaigns against all forms of bullying and aggressive or sexist behaviour as shown by its support for the cross-company initiative #StOpE which aims to stamp out everyday sexism in the workplace.
