For nearly 20 years, the Bouygues group has played an active part in the economic and social development of the regions and countries in which it operates by supporting medical, humanitarian, social, and, to a lesser extent, cultural initiatives. The Group devolves responsibility for sponsorship to each of its main subsidiaries.
At Martin Bouygues' request, the Group's sponsorship policy was clarified and brought within a tighter framework in 2001.
As a result, an Ethics and Sponsorship Committee was set up by Bouygues' Board of Directors, comprising four members and chaired by Lucien Duroux, Chairman of the Board of Banque de Gestion Privée Indosuez. The Committee studies the requests for support received by the company then issues an opinion.
