April 2008:

| Panels |

The panels of admirals on the northern side are currently under restoration. Touchups are being made where paint is missing. In accordance with the wishes of the Heritage Department, they are being done as discreetly as possible.

Restoration of doors
Restoration of the doors is under way. All the giltwork is oil gilding. The colouring of the white backgrounds of the doors will be adjusted to something between those that were exposed to light and those less exposed which have retained a more ochre hue, in order to achieve colour harmony.
| Ceiling rosettes |
The ceiling rosettes have had discreet holes drilled through them for installation of fire sensors. The building will be upgraded to modern safety standards for it will continue to be a prestigious reception centre for the Admiralty.
| Cameos |
The backgrounds of the floretted cameos have been restored.
Traditionally they are ringed by a laurel wreath in classic style.
Touchup work on the faces of the admirals is in progress.
Golden Galery |
In the Golden Gallery, traces of ochre wall paint were found when the wainscoting was removed. All the decorative elements are made of carton-pierre, unlike the Admirals Hall where some are made of gypsum plaster. The cleaning work on the pictures is more than 70% complete.
