The e-lab helps the business areas to make complex processes more efficient and to adjust pricing to market conditions. In sustainable construction, the e-lab recently developed an optimisation tool to calculate earth movements for DTP worksites. The e-lab also took part in precise energy measurements for Colas, Bouygues Telecom and Bouygues Construction, in order to develop applications for future worksites. More broadly, the e-lab team is studying energy and the best ways to make savings.

The R&D team worked with ETDE to develop the next generation of lampposts, which use a remotely controlled electronic unit to provide a range of innovative features including remote-management of street lighting, energy management and high-speed communications services for local authorities, etc.
The e-lab is also tasked with leading Bouygues’ innovation function, which brings together more than 400 managers from across the different business areas on theme-based committees and at information seminars to study cross-cutting topics. For example, in 2009 attention focused on buildings and energy, with special emphasis on renewable energies.
