Since privatisation in 1987, when Bouygues acquired a stake in its capital, the TF1 group has created new business lines, drawing on its content publishing operations.
In 2009, the Group strengthened internal content creation and developed synergies between the channels, subsidiaries and the web (with the successful launch of the new tf1.fr site).
TF1’s audiovisual rights strategy in 2009 consisted in reinforcing the Group’s position in the video and cinema markets through partnerships with Sony Pictures Home Entertainment and UGC.
These partnerships are also aimed at improving the long-term profitability of these activities.
TF1 also operates in the home shopping segment with its Téléshopping subsidiary and has created a range of diversified activities including spin-off products and board games.
The Group is exploring new territories with online games and gambling.
TF1 also operates theme channels that have become key components of the satellite, broadband, DTT and cable environment in France.
