Education and career
Anne-Marie Idrac graduated from Institut d’Études Politiques in Paris and École Nationale d’Administration (the Simone Weil intake). She has spent most of her career working in the fields of the environment, housing, urban development and transport. She was successively director general at the Public Development Agency (EPA) of Cergy-Pontoise, director of land transportation, Secretary of State for Transport, Chair and CEO of the RATP (Paris public transport authority), Chair of the SNCF (French state railways), and Secretary of State for Foreign Trade. She was also a Member of Parliament from 1997 to 2002 and Councillor for the Paris region.
