In 1988, after four years of management studies in Lille, Patrick was hired as a fi nancial controller by Norpac, the local Bouygues Construction subsidiary.
He then followed his boss to Bouygues Bâtiment Ile-de-France for what he assumed would be a short period, since he was very attached to northern France.
In the meantime, Bouygues Telecom was created. Here was an opportunity to do something new and exciting and get back to the provinces, thought Patrick.
So he headed off to exercise his profession by helping to roll out the operator’s network… but based in the Paris region, at Vélizy. Eager to have an operational position, he became a logistics manager for points of sale.
He was then put in charge of monitoring the performance of Customer Relations, where he learned about customer and operational marketing. To bolster his skills, he took courses at the business school ESCP-EAP two days a month for a year and a half.
Today, he is in Bordeaux, serving as the director of Bouygues Telecom’s largest Customer Relations Centre, which employs 400 customer advisors. “It’s not the North, but the province and the staff are great!”
